Former state Representative jumps back into politics

Jason Bartlett, who once served in the state House's 2nd District, formally announces his intention to seek a different General Assembly seat.  He has formed an exploratory committee to run for the state Senate's 24th District.  Letters have been sent to the Democratic town committees in Danbury, Bethel, Sherman and New Fairfield by Bartlett asking for their support.

Bartlett says he would advocate for children, the community and taxpayers.  He says he wants to use the exploratory period to reacquaint himself wit the issues and the residents before making a final decision on running.

Bartlett, who used to live in Bethel, is now a Danbury resident and runs his own business.  The seat is currently held by Republican Mike McLachlan.
