A Danbury Police officer who saw a car with no headlights on and a door open found a woman in distress, and now the driver is under arrest. Danbury Police say an officer on patrol early yesterday morning then spotted a woman flagging him down from the open door.
The woman told police she had picked up the driver, 37-year old Mario Guaman of Newtown, at El Milenio after he had fallen asleep at the bar.
They reportedly argued about who would drive and he pulled her out of the car, pushing her against it. The victim said that she was also strangled and punched. The woman was found bleeding with her clothing ripped.
Guaman was charged with driving with a suspended license, assault, strangulation and unlawful restraint. He was held on bond.
