In the last several weeks, Monroe and the surrounding communities have experienced a rash of overnight motor vehicle thefts and thefts from unlocked motor vehicles.  Monroe Police say the latest were reported on Monday.  Residents are being reminded to lock their cars at night and not to leave their keys or any other valuable items inside.  Monroe Police say two vehicles, which were unlocked with keys inside, have been stolen recently. Several more vehicles were unlocked and entered.  The owners later discovered that items such as credit cards and jewelry were stolen.  If anyone discovers a vehicle missing or entered overnight, contact police immediately.
