A Danbury man has offered his nearly 5 acre property to the City for $20,000. The Danbury City Council has called for an ad hoc committee to study the offer by Edward M Johnson for his 4.77 acres of land-locked land on Rockwood Lane.
The land abuts three city-owned parcels. The other side of his property is by a pond separating it from the Richter Park golf course.
The City Council is asking that the Engineering and Planning Departments, along with the Assessor and Corporation Counsel review the proposal. Some residents have asked the Council to find out if the owner would be willing to donate the land, instead of selling it.
