Ridgefield residents are being called on to attend a town meeting on Wednesday about plans to extend gas lines to hook up more municipal buildings. The $552,000 project extending two gas lines would be paid for in part by a $143,000 contribution from Yankee Gas.
Money left from previous voter-approved energy savings projects. would be used for the remain costs.
The town meeting is needed for approval of this project to hook up the dog pound, three town garages, East Ridge Middle School, Veterans Park Elementary School and the Community Center.
The buildings would switch from oil heat to natural gas, saving money in the budget each year.
