A Danbury police sergeant who was found dead after he barricaded himself inside a Southbury hotel room will be laid to rest tomorrow. The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said yesterday that 38-year-old Drew Carlson died of a gunshot wound to the head.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 104 Main Street, Danbury. Burial will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery in Danbury. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street in Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Danbury Police cautioned drivers that there will be road closures for the funeral procession.
In addition to his wife of 14 years and his parents, Carlson is survived by his children Kayla, Taylor and Tyler.
On behalf of Sergeant Carlson’s family and his extended family at the Danbury Police Department, DPD thanked people for their show of support and asked to be kept in thoughts and prayers.
