Danbury firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze at a Great Plain Road home early this morning.  Crews were dispatched around 3:30am on a report of heavy smoke coming from the side of the structure.  The family was alerted by smoke detectors and everyone got out safely prior to firefighter's arrival.  The homeowner used an extinguisher to keep the fire at bay before firefighters took over.  The structure was ventilated to clear out remaining smoke.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
