A New Fairfield man has been found competent to stand trial for the sexual assault and killing of his roommate in May. Steven Flood's attorney asked for competency exam in October. The state department of Mental Health and Addiction Services found that Flood has been diagnosed previously with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. 55-year old Susan Guido was found beaten to death in the home they shared. Flood admitted to drinking the day he got into an argument with her about finances. His next court appearance is slated for January 17th.
