Danbury Animal Control has found a family to adopt a dog in immediate need of a new home. The owner was arrested and incarcerated last week and asked for police to find a new home for his 6-year old Doberman Pinscher.
50-year old Johnny Delong was arrested for three outstanding warrants for charges that included three counts of failing to register as a sex offender and 6 counts of failing to register in other jurisdictions. He was held on a combined $275,000 court set bond.
Animal Control received an overwhelming response, over 100 calls, about adopting the dog. They say he was placed with a family that traveled a considerable distance to adopt him. The new owner, a veterinarian, owns a 20 acre farm and an animal hospital.
