An elected official from Danbury is braving the potential hurricane that could sideswipe Florida in order to help settle disputes at the Republican National Convention. Mayor Mark Boughton is part of the Credentials Committee and says his job is to act as a jury and determine which people should be seated at the convention.
There are three challenges being decided--delegate credentials from Maine, Oklahoma and Oregon. He says the challenges in those states revolve around procedural questions in selection of the Delegates.
Forecasts are showing the hurricane in the Atlantic missing the Tampa area. Boughton expects the convention to go forward as scheduled.
Boughton tweeted this photo of himself and another representative from Connecticut.
