Land that was originally earmarked in Ridgefield for a Route 7 relocation plan, which has since been abandoned by the state, could revert back to the town. The state is looking to divest itself of that lot and others.
The Ridgefield Board of Selectman is looking into an offer from the state Department of Transportation to buy back a parcel of land. First Selectman Rudy Marconi says its a 1.2 acre lot on Hickory Lane because the municipality is always given the right to decide first on the property's fate.
The property on Hickory Lane was acquired by the state from James Greene. It includes a colonial style 4-bedroom house with a 2-car garage that was built in 1986. The house is on septic sewer and has well water.
The state says there is no minimum bid on the lot, but that the appraised value is $535,000.
