A car on a city sidewalk with the driver slumped over at the wheel leads to a DUI arrest in Danbury Monday.
While on routine patrol early Monday morning, a Danbury police officer saw a car on the sidewalk at the intersection of Osborne Street and Locust Avenue. The Chevy Equinox was in the bushes facing westbound on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street.
Officers saw 45-year old Rigoberto Diaz of New Milford slumped over the wheel and they could smell alcohol in the vehicle. Diaz was charged with driving under the influence, failure to drive right and operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
He was arraigned Monday.
