PLYMOUTH, Conn. (AP) The Plymouth Board of Education is set to consider the future of its schools superintendent following her arrest on a larceny charge at her previous job in Hebron.

The Republican American reports that Eleanor S. Cruz arrived at work Thursday after her arrest. She was told to not to return until the school board met.

The Hebron Board of Education accused Cruz of misusing a district credit card and other charge accounts throughout 2012. Hebron officials say Cruz spent $5,095 in school money for personal reasons, or in error, and $9,133 in unauthorized expenses in 2012.

John Gesmonde, Cruz's lawyer, said most of the accusations are unsubstantiated and much of the spending was permitted.

Cruz was released on bond and will be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on Aug. 26.
