BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) A West Hartford man has been charged with helping a friend accused of murder flee a party in Bristol where a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death in January.
Bristol police arrested 23-year-old Anthony Johnese early Friday morning on charges including second-degree assault, hindering prosecution and reckless endangerment.
Joseph Klett was fatally stabbed at the house party, and 26-year-old Joshua Daniels was charged with his murder.
Police say Johnese hit a man in the head with a liquor bottle as the man tried to help Klett, and he later drove Daniels to North Carolina where both men were arrested after a car chase.
Johnese posted $50,000 bail. A phone listing for him couldn't be found, and it's not clear if he has a lawyer.
Daniels has pleaded not guilty.
