Cops: janitor sexually assaulted women at rehab

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Bridgeport police say a man charged with sexually assaulting three women at a drug rehabilitation center told investigators he had a ``lust problem'' and succumbed to ``temptation.''

Forty-year-old Rafael Cartagena of Bridgeport was charged Saturday with three counts of first-degree sexual assault and four counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

Police say the assaults were reported in June by staff members at the New Prospects Program center run by the nonprofit Recovery Network of Programs. The center treats men and women with drug addiction and psychiatric disorders. A judge later signed an arrest warrant for Cartagena, alleging he sexually assaulted three clients at the facility.

Cartagena is detained on $450,000 bail and is due in Bridgeport Superior Court on Sept. 9.
