BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Police are investigating an accident in which a university student was struck by a car and seriously injured while crossing a street in Bridgeport.
The female student from Sacred Heart University was struck around 1 p.m. on Friday across from a sorority house where she lives.
The university said the student, a junior, was being treated at St. Vincent's Hospital.
Bridgeport police spokesman William Kaempffer told the Connecticut Post the woman was in critical condition. The driver involved in the accident was cooperating with police.
