MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) Four men have been arrested after a shooting on a Meriden park basketball court that left a 22-year-old man wounded.
Police Sgt. Darrin McKay says Taiyron Cruz was hit in the buttocks and a calf by two shots fired at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Wallingford police Sgt. Michael Forcier says the four suspects were apprehended after a witness followed the car they were in, which later crashed.
Police say Cruz's condition was stable Thursday after being flown by helicopter to a hospital.
Twenty-three-year-old Denzel Byrd and 22-year-olds Joerael Bratten and Teharmon Techer of Meriden and 18-year-old Kyshone Jackson of Waterbury were each being held in lieu of bond Thursday and face numerous charges.
Police say they have not discovered a motive for the shooting.
