Police charge suspect in West Haven bar shooting

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Police have arrested a West Haven man in connection with a shooting outside a city bar that left a woman with a shotgun wound to her face.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 2:50 a.m. Sunday near the corner of Campbell Avenue and Noble Street.

Sgt. David Tammaro says Edward Corradino was charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment, first-degree assault and related charges.

Tammaro says the 47-year-old Corradino had a confrontation with the victim inside Kelly's Bar and was shot as she left. She was transported to the hospital and has been stabilized.

Corradino is being held in lieu of bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
