Police: Body pulled from Pequonnock River in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Authorities are investigating after a body was pulled from the Pequonnock River in Bridgeport in front of dozens of people enjoying the weekend weather, including families with children.

The Connecticut Post reports that police were alerted to the body at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at a waterfront park along Knowlton Street.

The male was wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans, boxers, tan belt and a baseball cap.

Police say there was no sign of trauma on the body and a cause of death has not yet been determined.

The man's name has not been made public.
