NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) New Haven police say a teen escaped a Memorial Day shooting with only a minor head wound.

Police say they 15-year-old boy told them he was cutting through a yard on Lilac Street at about 1:30 p.m. Monday when he heard a gunshot.

He was struck in the forehead, and suffered what police describe as a graze wound.

He was treated and released from Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Police say the teen gave them only ``vague'' answers to their questions and told them he did not see the shooter. No arrests have been made.
