1 dead, 2 injured after 3 motorcycles crash on highway

EASTFORD, Conn. (AP) Police say a man was killed and two others were seriously injured after three motorcycles crashed on a Connecticut highway.

Kenneth Oliva, of Norwood, Massachusetts, died Sunday after his motorcycle collided with another bike on Route 44 in Eastford.

Police say the 68-year-old was traveling west toward a curve when he ran into 26-year-old Nicholas Romitti, of Vernon, who was heading east. Both were thrown from their bikes.

Police say 66-year-old Philip McManus, also of Norwood, was also heading west, got caught up in the accident and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Oliva was taken to Hartford Hospital where he died from his injuries. McManus and Romitti were taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center.

The accident is currently under investigation.
