Investigation into 2010 homicide leads to arrest of inmates

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Two Connecticut prison inmates have been charged with murder in connection with a 2010 shooting that took the life of a 30-year-old New Haven man.

Kenneth Homas was found shot twice in the neck near the intersection of Orchard and Charles Streets on April 10, 2010.

Police say a lengthy investigation led to felony murder charges Thursday against 34-year-old Nathan ``Lizard'' Johnson and 24-year-old Errie ``Buck'' McClendon.

Johnson, who previously lived on Orchard Place, is currently serving a 70-year sentence after being convicted in a 2011 robbery and shooting that left a man paralyzed.

McClendon is serving an 8-month sentence for selling drugs and was due to be released next month.

Bond for both men was set at $750,000.
