SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (AP) State police have identified two teenagers who were killed when their car went off Interstate 84 in Southington, rolled over and hit a tree.
Troopers said Wednesday that the victims were 16-year-old AnnMarie ``Annie'' Olender and 14-year-old Olivia Fusco, both of Southington.
Authorities say Olender was driving eastbound near exit 32 Tuesday afternoon when the car left the left lane, hit a metal wire guardrail, overturned and struck a tree. Both girls were pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. State police are asking witnesses to call them.
A vigil for the girls is planned for Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Southington High School. Support services also are being offered at the high school and municipal center on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
