GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) The family of a woman killed by a Metro-North train in Connecticut is challenging a state medical examiner's ruling that her death was a suicide and is planning its own investigation.

The Chief Medical Examiner's Office ruled Monday that the death of 28-year-old Tamar Louis at the Cos Cob station in Greenwich on Friday was a suicide.

Metro-North officials say the Stamford resident was sitting on the platform dangling her legs over the edge and dropped her purse on the tracks, then was hit by the train when she went to get her purse.

The Louis family's lawyer, Mark Sherman, told Hearst Connecticut Media that the family is questioning the ruling and will conduct its own review.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is still investigating Louis' death.
