Police: Man narrowly avoids injury after car is shot up

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Police say a man narrowly avoided injury after his car was shot up in Hartford.

The Hartford Courant reports the shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the man was standing near his car in a parking lot and noticed another man 15 feet away. The second man aimed a gun in his direction and started firing.

Police say the victim dove to the ground as bullets flew. His car was damaged, but he was not injured. Police recovered three shell casings and one projectile from the scene.

It's not yet clear if the shooter was aiming at the car or the man.
