DERBY, Conn. (AP) Fire officials say a woman has died in a fire at a multi-family home in Derby.

The fire started at around 7 a.m. Sunday. WTIC-TV reports firefighters discovered the flames when they came to the location on Derby street for a car accident.

The three-story building was evacuated and the fire was put out by 9 a.m.

State police identified the woman as 48-year-old Nilda Ruiz.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
