Police: Man took girl from her bedroom, assaulted her

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) Authorities in Connecticut are searching for a man who they say took a young girl from her bedroom and sexually assaulted her earlier this month.

Police say the girl was sleeping in her bed in a New Britain home on August 16 when a man entered a bedroom she shared with two other children through an unlocked window.

Police say the man took her outside, touched her inappropriately and then brought her back home.

After an adult in the home realized what happened, police were notified. But they say the suspect is still on the loose. He is described as being between 20 and 50 years old and light-skinned with a dark beard, dark eyes, short hair and an accent.

New Britain police and the Connecticut Forensics Laboratory are investigating.
