Connecticut couple arrested in connection with dog mauling

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (AP) A Connecticut couple has been arrested in connection with a dog attack that seriously injured a home health care worker.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jenna Allen and 29-year-old Corey Beakey, both of Plainfield, were arrested Monday.

Police say 56-year-old Lynne Denning, of Canterbury, was caring for an elderly patient at their home when two dogs mauled her Dec. 3. She suffered injuries to her face, chest, arms and legs.

Allen is charged with reckless endangerment, possession of a nuisance dog and failure to comply with dog license requirements.

Beakey is charged with reckless endangerment.

Allen's attorney called the timing of the arrest ``dubious'' as a hearing is scheduled Wednesday on whether to uphold an order to euthanize two dogs.

They are due back in Danielson Superior Court on Sept. 28.
