GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) A New Jersey man has died after accidentally driving a van off a boat ramp in Connecticut.

Greenwich police Lt. Kraig Gray says the accident happened Monday afternoon at the Cos Cob Marina.

The Sound Beach Dive Team found the van about 12 feet under water and pulled the man out. 80-year old Patrick Conroy was taken to Greenwich Hospital and later pronounced dead.

He was the only person in the vehicle.

The death remains under investigation.
