EAST HADDAM, Conn. (AP) - State police say a 20-year-old man died and his 47-year-old father was seriously injured when the motorcycles they were riding crashed on a winding stretch of road in East Haddam.
Police say the Meriden men were riding in Devil's Hopyard State Park at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when Stephen Palermo lost control of his bike, went off the road and onto the right shoulder, and struck a large tree stump.
His father, Jorge Palermo, also lost control and went off the road. Police say he suffered a broken arm, broken ribs and a punctured lung.
