ROCKY HILL, Conn. (AP) - Police say two people were killed after a driver who was pulled over for speeding tried to flee the scene.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday in Rocky Hill. Police say an officer saw the car driving at a high rate of speed. They say the driver pulled over, but fled when the officer approached the car and hit a tree.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver died from injuries at Hartford Hospital. No one was immediately identified.
The crash remains under investigation.
