CHESTER, Conn. (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of a man who went missing after the canoe he was in capsized on a Connecticut lake.
State environmental conservation police said the body of 48-year-old Manchester resident Paul Haney was pulled from Cedar Lake in Chester around 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
Haney and Chester resident Carol Bremser were thrown into the water when their canoe overturned on Saturday evening. The 49-year-old Bremser was rescued by a passing boat. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police say Haney's body was found a short distance from where the canoe turned over.
