A 6-year-old girl was transported to the hospital after being pulled from the water at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington. Emergency dispatchers say crews were called to Burr Pond for a possible drowning around 6:30 p.m. Torrington Fire Chief Gary Brunoli says when crews arrived the child was already out of the water and conscious and breathing.
A good samaritan sitting on a park bench saw the girl needed help and pulled her from the lake . He then gave her CPR till help arrived. She was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for evaluation and is expected to recover. This is the same location where a 4-year-old drowned on June 26. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has banned alcohol at the park for 90 days because of public safety concerns
