Motorcyclist killed after hitting deer in Connecticut

VOLUNTOWN, Conn. (AP) State police say a man was killed when his motorcycle hit a deer and lost control in Connecticut.

Police say 37-year-old Peter Kozlowski of Griswold was heading east on Route 138 in Voluntown around 5:10 a.m. Thursday when his motorcycle hit the animal and veered into the westbound lane.

The bike was then struck by a car driven by 53-year-old Mary Ketchel of Warwick, Rhode Island and another vehicle driven by 39-year-old Sherrie Whitford of Exeter, Rhode Island.

Kozlowski was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say neither Ketchel nor Whitford appeared to be injured.

The incident is under investigation.
