MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) Authorities say a body was found in the Connecticut River in Middletown over the weekend.

Lt. Richard Davis says a kayaker noticed the body around 2:15 p.m. Saturday floating near the bank of the river between the Arrigoni Bridge and Harbor Park. Crews recovered the body shortly after.

It's unclear how long the body had been in the river. Davis says authorities are investigating the man's death. His identity is being withheld pending the notification of his family and an autopsy.
