HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Police say officers responding to a report of shots fired found a loaded shotgun hidden in a children's playscape in Hartford.
Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley says the gun was located Sunday on the eastern side of Pope Park. It contained three live, 12-gauge shotgun rounds.
Officers had responded to a report of two gunshots fired in the area. No victims were found.
Foley says officers talked to witnesses who say they saw someone flee the area, but police weren't able to find the person who last had the gun.
The investigation continues.
