East Hampton police officer struck by car, injured

EAST HAMPTON, Conn. (AP) - A police officer has been struck by a car while assisting a utility crew that was responding to a small power outage.

Connecticut State Police say the East Hampton officer was struck Sunday night while helping an Eversource crew.

The officer was flown to an area hospital with unknown injuries. State police say the officer is alert and conscious.

The investigation is ongoing.

No other information was immediately available.
