Couple found dead in woods, vacant home

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A woman reported missing from the Connecticut hospital where she worked has been found dead in the woods, and her boyfriend was found dead in a vacant home, in what police believe was a murder-suicide.

The New Britain Police Department said Friday that it discovered the stab-wounded body of Janet Caraballo in a secluded wooded area of Plainfield. The 2 p.m. Friday discovery came more than 12 hours after police found the body of her boyfriend Luis Rodriguez, 45, at a vacant home in nearby New Britain.

Caraballo, 37, had been reported missing Thursday night from The Hospital of Central Connecticut New Britain Campus after she left for a break and didn't return. A witness saw her get into Rodriguez's car, leaving behind her cell phone, purse and other belongings.
