HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut man has been charged in a shooting that injured four people outside of a Hamden bar.
Police say 44-year-old Heshimu Barker was arrested Tuesday at his girlfriend's home in Northford. The New Haven resident is charged with four counts of first-degree assault and other crimes stemming from the Aug. 20 shooting outside the Highwood Bar and Grill.
It's unclear whether Barker has a lawyer who could comment while he is detained.
Police say the victims were treated at the scene by Hamden first responders. Three of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Barker is being held on a $500,000 bond. He's scheduled to appear in court Oct. 4.
