Connecticut police make arrest in 2006 death of father of 5

NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police say they have made an arrest in the death of a father of five whose body was found in a field in Ledyard nearly 11 years ago.

The Day reports that police on Thursday announced that 32-year-old Timothy Johnson faces a felony murder charge in connection with the January 2006 death of Anthony Hamlin. The 40-year-old Groton man was a member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.

An autopsy determined he died of blunt force trauma to the head.

He was last seen in New London the day before his body was found.

Johnson, of New London, was held on $1 million bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
