NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - New Haven officials say at least 12 homes were destroyed when a fire raced through a condominium complex.

Firefighters responded to the Harbour Landing complex at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. At least two people were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

In addition to the 12 destroyed condos, officials say several other homes were left with water and smoke damage.

Fire officials believe the blaze started in the roof of one of the condos.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross is helping affected families with temporary housing and other needs.
