Cops: Suspect in chase, theft posted bail with bogus bills

MILLBROOK, N.Y. (AP) -- A Connecticut man is in a New York jail after authorities say he stole two vehicles, led police on a chase on an upstate highway and used counterfeit money to post his bail.

State police say a man in Millbrook in Dutchess County told troopers Monday night that someone had stolen his motorcycle. Troopers later spotted a stolen van that matched the description of the suspect's vehicle.

Police say the driver refused to pull over and drove south in the northbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway, where he collided with an East Fishkill police vehicle. The driver stopped the van and attempted to flee on foot before being captured.

Police say the driver, 24-year-old Jaquan Rosado of Bridgeport, Connecticut, later posted $700 cash bail using counterfeit $100 bills.
