New Haven man faces charges after high-speed car chase

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A New Haven man police say led them on a high-speed chase through four communities is heading to court.

Police say they were conducting a speed trap on Interstate 95 south early Monday when a car zoomed by at 90 miles per hour.

The car had been reported stolen.

The Connecticut Post reports that police gave chase and the say the car reached speeds of 106 mph.

The pursuit continued onto the Merritt Parkway and onto the streets of Bridgeport.

It ended when the car drove onto a dead end street and the driver surrendered.

Police say 22-year-old Emilio Davila was faces charges including reckless driving, first-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $25,000 bond pending arraignment Tuesday.
