HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Police have arrested a Connecticut man for calling 911 to report a fake drowning.
Authorities say the 34-year-old man called to report a child drowning in Hartford Monday afternoon in order to gauge emergency response times.
A witness told police the man wanted to test if authorities would respond to the city's ``poor black community.''
The man has been arrested and charged with falsely reporting an incident, interfering with police and breach of peace.
Police say the man made a similar false call five weeks ago and said armed men were trying to burglarize his home.
The man is currently being held on $30,000 bond.
