NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) A man accused of killing a woman and putting her body in a freezer in 2010 has pleaded no contest to a murder charge.
The Day of New London reports 51-year-old Luis Otero entered the plea Friday in New London Superior Court in exchange for a 28 1/2 year prison sentence.
Otero is accused of killing his Groton housemate, 50-year-old Madeline Brisson. An arrest warrant said Otero told a friend he ``flipped out'' when Brisson told him to move out of her house and implied a lesbian affair with his daughter.
The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled that Brisson died of blunt traumatic injuries and asphyxia.
Otero has been held in lieu of $2 million bond since his arrest. His sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 9.
