UConn reports bomb threat to Admissions Building

STORRS, Conn. (AP) -- The University of Connecticut is asking people to avoid campus as police investigate a bomb threat called into a building that houses the school's primary admissions office.

UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz says the Tasker Building was evacuated Thursday morning immediately after someone phoned in a bomb threat at about 9:30 a.m. University officials also told people in other parts of the Storrs campus to shelter in place and urged anyone traveling to campus to stay away.

State police were checking the building with a bomb-sniffing dog and talking with the employee who took the threatening call.

Reitz says the search hasn't turned up anything suspicious so far.
