NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) New Haven police say a 16-year-old boy who was shot in the head has died at a local hospital.
Authorities say Torrence Gamble died at 3:15 a.m. Friday after having been rushed into surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Police say he lived in New Haven and attended Riverside Academy.
Officer David Hartman says the police department has nothing to report about a suspect or suspect vehicle. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call New Haven police.
Medics and police officers found Gamble unresponsive on Daggett Street shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday while responding to a 911 call about a single gunshot and a shooting victim.
