A Bethel man is asking the state Elections Enforcement Commission to investigate Senator Chris Murphy’s just-launched Fight Back Connecticut initiative.  Former state Representative Dan Carter told the Connecticut Post that federally earmarked political contributions to Murphy's 2018 re-election campaign should not be used to bolster state and local candidates.

When Murphy launched the initiative, he said it would be to help fund and organize aid to grassroots groups to block the President's agenda.

In his opposition, Carter pointed to the fine handed down by the SEEC to the state Democratic Party for using a federal Get Out The Vote account to pay for a mailer supporting Governor Malloy's reelection.
