A Connecticut man wanted for burglaries in Monroe and elsewhere has been charged by state police for one of the incidents. 28-year old Steven Aberg of Manchester was initially arrested on July 11th for traffic violations.
Troopers tried stopping his car, but the suspect crashed into several vehicles and tried to flee on foot. He was caught, and on Wednesday, transported to court on burglary charges for allegedly stealing and using credit cards from a Haddam Neck home.
Monroe Police were seeking a burglary arrest of Aberg. State Police were also investigating him for a June burglary in Woodbury. Aberg was developed as a suspect after he allegedly pawned items stolen from that home. Aberg is also wanted by Southington Police in a narcotics case.
Police say he is a known narcotics abuser and has a criminal history, including burglary.
