A driver was cited on Sunday for failure to yield the right of way when they got tired of waiting for the annual CT United Ride to go through a Monroe intersection. One motorcyclist was forced off the road and had to be transported to the hospital during the 9/11 tribute event. The driver was not named. The Monroe Courier says the incident also caused a 10-minute gap in the ride and drivers at intersections further along the route resumed normal traffic believing the event was over. More than 2,500 motorcyclists participated in the event. A police escort mostly allowed the procession to move uninterrupted on its loop from Norwalk to Bridgeport.
